Equipment Payments
Lease vs. buy, monthly payment, and whether the machine pays for itself.
Standard finance math on your numbers. No rates or residuals invented; you bring the quote, we do the arithmetic.
Finance 11
Work backward from the payment you can afford, not forward from the machine you want. The term quietly decides how much that payment buys.
Equipment affordability calculator→
Depreciation is not the cash. It is the value the equipment loses each year on paper, and the method you pick decides how fast that shows up.
Equipment depreciation calculator→
Cash is not free. Finance if your money can earn more than the loan costs; pay cash if it earns less. The rate comparison is the whole answer.
Equipment finance vs. cash calculator→
A lease payment is two things: what the equipment loses in value, and rent on the money. The residual decides most of it.
Equipment lease calculator→
A lease almost always wins on the monthly payment and often loses on the total. Compare the cost to own, not the number on the invoice.
Equipment lease vs. buy calculator→
The monthly payment is not the cost. The interest over the term is, and a long term hides a large one behind a comfortable payment.
Equipment loan calculator→
The fuel gauge is the cheap part. Ownership and maintenance per hour are what people leave out, and they price jobs at a loss because of it.
Equipment operating cost calculator→
A machine pays for itself out of the net, not the revenue. Subtract what it costs to run before you count what it earns.
Equipment payback calculator→
Rent or buy is not about the equipment. It is about how many days a year you use it, and there is a break-even where owning wins.
Equipment rent vs. buy calculator→
Repair or replace is not the repair bill against the new price. It is the cost per year each way, and a cheap repair that buys one year can lose.
Equipment repair vs. replace calculator→
The purchase price is the deposit, not the cost. Fuel, maintenance, and insurance over the years usually dwarf it.

The sticker prices a bare combine, and a bare combine harvests nothing. The header is crop-specific and quoted separately, and it, the header trailer and the haul to your farm are the gap between the sticker and what you write the check for.
How much does a combine cost?→
A per-operator fee is not what an operator costs. Add the hours you are paying for and the instructor's flat visit, and our defaults turn a $225 a head quote into $469 a head. Put the whole crew through in one session and that figure falls.
How much does it cost to get forklift certified?→
A semi's sticker cannot rank two trucks, because a cheap truck sells fewer remaining miles. Divide the out-the-door total by the miles you will run, and they compare.
How much does a semi truck cost?→
The machine is half the purchase. A skid steer has to get to the job, and the machine plus the trailer under it is what your truck's tow rating actually sees.
How much does a skid steer cost?→
The sticker prices a bare tractor. The loader, the ballast, the implements and the delivery are quoted separately, and together they are the gap between the sticker and what you write the check for.
How much does a tractor cost?→
The price is not what decides this. Almost everything an Airstream costs you runs on the calendar rather than on your use of it, so the nights you actually sleep in it are what move the real number.
How much does an Airstream trailer cost?→
The sticker is a bare deck, and a bare deck does not haul your load. The ramps, the spare and the axle rating that make it work, plus the dealer's fees and the state's cut, turn a $4,500 sticker into $7,000 on the road.
How much does a Big Tex trailer cost?→
The low sticker is the reason people buy a pop-up, and it is real. What it leaves out is that the camper arrives bare and arrives soft-sided: it needs a setup kit before you can camp in it, and a cover before the canvas decides how long you own it.
How much does a pop-up trailer cost?→
The base price is the figure people repeat, and it is not what one costs. A Scamp is configured rather than bought, so the options are the price, and then somebody has to drive to the factory and tow it home.
How much does a Scamp trailer cost?→
The figure builders repeat is the box, and the box is about half of it. The galley, the wiring and the interior that make it a camper cost nearly as much again, and then come the tools and the plate.
How much does a teardrop trailer cost to build?→
A wrap is quoted per square foot, but the artwork and the prep are flat lines that do not move with area. Divide the finished bill by your square footage and the rate you actually pay is higher than the rate you were quoted.
How much does it cost to wrap a trailer?→
The premium is the number everybody shops, and it is the small one. What decides whether the policy worked is the deductible plus the gap between replacing the trailer and what the policy pays.
How much does travel trailer insurance cost?→
Nothing in this chapter rests on that source.
