Whether you get the member rate can move the base more than the guest list does. My Gym runs classes on a membership, and many locations quote a lower party base to members than to walk-in bookings. If you already have a membership, price the party on the member rate; if you do not, ask what a month of membership would cost against what it would knock off the party, because the two can come close.
The included count matters as much as the package price. Two locations quoting the same flat figure are not quoting the same party if one covers ten children and the other covers sixteen. Compare the package and the count together, and work out the all-in per head before you decide which quote is better value.
Only the guests above the count cost extra, which makes the guest list a step function rather than a slope. Adding a child while you are still under the included count is free; the first name past it starts the per-head charge. If your list is sitting a name or two over, trimming it back to the count is the cleanest saving on the page.
Food, favors, gratuity and tax apply on top of the package. Pizza and drinks priced per head, a cake, goody bags and decorations each stack onto the base; instructors run the session and some locations add a service charge or expect a tip; then sales tax applies to the package, the food and the extras. These are your own rates here, and the location's contract decides the taxable base, so confirm them before you trust the total.
