How much does Sundays dog food cost per month?

Work out what an air-dried dog food really costs you per month and per year, from the bag price and the amount your dog actually eats. The list price of one bag before any subscription discount. Check the size it applies to, because the same brand often sells a small trial bag and a large bag at very different prices per ounce.
The weight printed on the bag, in ounces. A 2.5 pound bag is 40 ounces and a 5 pound bag is 80. Getting this right matters more than the price, because it sets the cost per ounce everything else runs on.
From the brand's feeding chart for your dog's weight. Air-dried food is dense, so daily portions are small: a ten pound dog may eat around 2 ounces a day and an eighty pound dog several times that. Feed for the weight your dog should be, not the weight they are.
How many dogs eat from this food. Two dogs of the same size double the food line but not the treat line, which is why a second dog costs less than the first on food.
The standing discount for autoship or a repeat delivery, if you take one. Enter 0 if you buy bags one at a time. Use the ongoing rate rather than a larger first-order offer, which only applies once.
Anything else filling the bowl. Many owners use air-dried food as a topper over a cheaper base food rather than the whole meal, which cuts the ounces per day above and moves the spend here instead.
Training treats, dental chews, and anything going in beyond meals. It sits outside the feeding chart, so it is easy to forget when you price a food change.

A bag price on its own is not comparable to anything, because bags come in different sizes and dogs eat different amounts. Dividing the discounted bag price by the ounces in the bag gives a cost per ounce, and multiplying that by the ounces your dog eats a day gives a cost per day you can hold against any other food on the shelf. The daily portion comes from your dog, not from us. Air-dried food is dense and calorie-rich, so portions look small next to a scoop of kibble: a small dog may be on a couple of ounces a day where a large dog is on several times that. Read the ounces off the brand's own feeding chart for the weight your dog should be, and enter that. Nothing here assumes a portion for you.

Feeding it as a topper rather than a full meal changes the answer more than the price does. Halving the ounces per day roughly halves the food line, but you then keep buying the base food underneath, so the saving is smaller than half. Put the reduced ounces in the daily portion field and the base food in the kibble line, and the total accounts for both sides of the bowl.

The subscription discount is a standing rate, not the first-order offer. Sign-up promotions on pet food deliveries are usually far larger than the ongoing repeat-delivery rate, and the ongoing rate is what you carry from the second bag onward. The high end sits above the calculated figure on purpose. A puppy still growing eats a rising portion every month, bag prices move, and a discount can be dropped or a delivery skipped and rebought at list. The range allows for that rather than pretending the arithmetic holds all year.

Is air-dried dog food more expensive than kibble?
Per ounce it usually is, because it starts from a higher meat content and loses water rather than being cooked into a starch-bound pellet. Per meal the gap is narrower than the per-ounce gap, since the food is denser and the portions are smaller. Work out the cost per day here, then work out the same figure for the bag you buy now and compare those two numbers rather than the sticker prices.
Can I use it as a topper to cut the cost?
Yes, and it is a common way to run it. Using it over a cheaper base food cuts the ounces per day, which cuts the food line roughly in proportion, and you carry the base food underneath instead.
